Ambos Nogales
Nogales, Arizona and Nogales, Mexico: these non-identical twin cities, separated by a fence, are at once quintessential and burlesque versions of their respective nations, The United States and Mexico. Here, first and third worlds come together, at times face to face and at times back to back. But these photos go well beyond and beneath the expected and take us into the intimate and often surprising lives of these border towns.
The complete series of these photographs, as well as stories of the people and places, can be found in Maeve Hickey's book Ambos Nogales.
